Although I usually post a work in progress photo at the drawing stage it didn’t happen with this piece as, to be honest, I wasn’t happy with it. It was one of those drawings that wasn’t working but I couldn’t work out why. As a result I stuck it in my work in progress pile and moved onto to a drawing for a comic themed piece based on a character called ‘The Clock’ (more on that in a later post).
However, I dug it out the other day and realised what the problem was; her hair…it wasn’t right and in fact it wasn’t necessary. So I ripped it off and then I was happy.
So now to the collaging. Having stuck her down on to the plywood I wanted to experiment a bit with paint as I wanted a more disjointed and grungy effect for this piece.
I’ve mentioned in previous posts how I much I love going to the Whitby Goth Weekend and I know that there are changes happening to the organisation of the event which are a little disconcerting and I think the piece reflects that.
Obviously the success of my experimentation is entirely a matter for you to decide… meanwhile I’ll get on with my Clock piece.
And if you’d like to share that would be fab…
